Esther’s counselling tips:

• Fungal conditions are commonly seen skin infections in community pharmacy which are caused by fungi that thrive in warm, moist areas of the body
• Ketoconazole is a fungistatic antifungal which means that it inhibits fungal growth – therefore you need to continue to apply this product for 2 weeks after the condition has improved to make sure there aren’t any remaining fungi growing
• To minimise the chance of getting a fungal infection keep the prone areas dry and well aerated
• Use a pumice stone to lightly strip off the outer layer of fungal infection and then apply Daktagold liberally
• Sprinkle Daktagold powder inside of shoes which may be containing the fungi
• Daktagold is NOT to be used in pregnancy
