    • Crystaderm contains hydrogen peroxide which acts as an antibacterial and antiseptic
    • It’s important to clean out anything in the wound with water before applying Crystaderm
    • Unlike Betadine, Crystaderm will not stain clothes – however we still encourage customers to cover the wound with a Nexcare bandage to prevent further infection
    • I always let my customers know that if there is redness around the injury site, draw a border around the redness with a pen and if the redness advances outside of the border whilst applying Crystaderm then I suggest you go see a doctor

    Esther’s counselling tips:

    • Bio Oil was one of my favourite products to use during my pregnancies, it helps to improve the skin’s elasticity and reduce the appearance of stretch marks formed during pregnancy or weight loss
    • It also helps with uneven skin tone and is highly effective for ageing and dehydrated skin
    • It contains vitamins A & E, calendula, lavender, rosemary and chamomile oil which are all rapidly absorbed making the product non-greasy
    • It is hypoallergenic and is suitable for use in babies and infants

    Andrew’s counselling tips:

    • Betadine ointment is one of my favourite products to disinfect a wound as it has antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties – it basically nukes any sort of infection
    • It is an essential product I take with me while travelling – any cuts, grazes, bites this is the product I apply during the first few days
    • It’s important to clean anything out of the wound with water before applying Betadine
    • Betadine is a brown/orange colour which can stain some materials so it’s important to cover with a bandage such as Nexcare to make sure it doesn’t rub onto your clothes
    • I always let my customers know that if there is redness around the injury site, draw a border around the redness with a pen and if the redness advances outside of the border whilst applying Betadine then I suggest you go see a doctor

    • SOOV Bite Cream is a combination product which contains both a local anaesthetic to numb the itchy area and a mild antiseptic to stop the bite from potentially becoming infected
    • As a cream only works where you apply it, if there are lots of bites or stings on the body it may be useful to combine the product with something like an antihistamine tablet or liquid, which once absorbed into the bloodstream will work all over the body
    • It is a gentle product which can be used from the ages of 2 and over

    • MEBO wound repair is an amazing product for promoting the healing of all wounds, cuts or grazes
    • It is a 100% natural ointment used to promote skin regeneration and is used by hospitals worldwide
    • Try to remove anything from the wound, then clean it with water or saline before applying MEBO
    • You should apply MEBO liberally so that there is quite a thick layer on the wound and then cover with a Nexcare plaster
    • Do not use if you have an allergy to sesame seeds and/or oil

    • The active ingredient Heparinoid acts by dissolving small blood clots, reducing inflammation and improves the blood supply to the skin thereby reducing the appearance of bruises, scars and varicose veins
    • This product can be used in conjunction with Bio-Oil which is useful for improving skin elasticity and further improving the appearance of scars and veins
    • Gently massage the Hirudoid cream into the affected areas at least twice daily and continue for 48 hours after the condition has improved

    • Anthisan is an antihistamine cream containing a local anaesthetic which numbs the area, providing relief from bites or stings

    • Bepanthen is a mild antiseptic cream that is suitable for use from all ages including infants and babies (Betadine & Crystaderm cannot be used on babies)
    • It can also be used for a mothers cracked or damaged nipples during lactation
    • In my professional opinion Bepanthen is still a fantastic antiseptic who’s main point of difference is that it can be used by the whole family and those people who have sensitive skin

    • Sudocrem is a fantastic product to treat painful conditions such as chafing or surf rash
    • I find that applying the product liberally under your boardies helps to stop the area drying out so the rash doesn’t get any worse and the zinc oxide acts as a barrier so that no water or bacteria can get in
    • It’s a great product to take travelling if you’re going in the water for long periods of time such as diving or swimming, if you’re out tramping in the bush or carrying a backpack on your back in warm humid weather
    • Sudocrem can also be used for nappy rash on babies and pressure sores in the elderly
    • Dry the affected area with a towel and apply twice daily and continue for 48 hours after the condition has cleared

    • Magnesium Sulphate paste works by drawing out anything that is in the wound such as prickles, splinters or dirt
    • Warm the paste first by putting it in a water bath to enhance the drawing effect
    • It also works by drying out a wound such as a boil or a pimple
    • The best way to apply the paste is lather it onto a piece of gauze before covering the gauze over the top of the wound and then covering the gauze with a Nexcare bandage
    • It is a gentle product which can be used from the ages of 2 and over
