  • Canesten 3-Day Thrush Treatment Cream

    $25.99

    Esther’s Counselling Tips:

    • Thrush is a common condition which affects almost every woman at some stage in their lives
    • Thrush is caused by things such as: stress, during or after a course of antibiotics, when you are run down, pregnancy, diabetes, inadequate diet, hormonal imbalance such as around the time of your menstrual cycle or a weakened immune system
    • It is caused by an overproduction of yeasts which normally live in our bodies and is a harmless condition, although the symptoms can be irritating
    • If this is your first time you have had thrush-like symptoms, we recommend you get it diagnosed by a doctor
    • You may find it’s more convenient to insert the cream applicator at night, after showering and going to the bathroom – for 3 consecutive nights in a row
    • It is important to finish the 3-day cream and applicator course even if the thrush has cleared up and to go and see a doctor if the condition has not improved by the end of the course
    • SAFE to use in pregnancy or breastfeeding, although during pregnancy only insert the applicator half the way in

    • Thrush is caused by factors such as: stress, during or after a course of antibiotics, hormonal imbalances or when you are run down, pregnancy, diabetes, or with an inadequate diet

  • Canesten Antifungal Cream 50g

    $21.99

    Esther’s counselling tips:

    • Fungal conditions are commonly seen skin infections in community pharmacy which are caused by fungi that thrive in warm, moist areas of the body
    • Clotrimazole is a fungistatic antifungal which means that it inhibits fungal growth – therefore you need to continue to apply this product for 2 weeks after the condition has improved to make sure there aren’t any remaining fungi growing
    • To minimise the chance of getting a fungal infection keep the prone areas dry and well aerated
    • If possible, use a pumice stone to lightly strip off the outer layer of fungal infection and then apply Canesten liberally
    • Sprinkle an antifungal powder inside of shoes which may be containing the fungi
    • Canesten is SAFE to use in pregnancy or breastfeeding

  • Canesten Fungal Nail Treatment Set

    $44.99

    Andrew’s counselling tips:

    • This is one of the nail treatment products I like to recommend in store for the treatment of fungal nail infections
    • A nail is very hard opposed to the skin so it’s difficult for a drug to penetrate into it, that’s why Canesten nail treatment has urea ointment which you apply to the nail to soften it before applying the antifungal
    • You then roughen up the nail with the plastic scraper and apply the bifonazole antifungal cream, before covering it with one of the plasters supplied
    • This is scientifically proven to work more effectively than just painting cream or lacquer onto a nail
    • Only for use on 1 to 2 nails, if anymore is affected we recommend seeing a doctor
    • NOT to be used in pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless recommended by a doctor
