This medication is ideal for people who have trouble swallowing large tablets, the mini-capsules are virtually half the size of a normal tablet – yet still contain the same amount of paracetamol
Paracetamol is useful for a wide variety of conditions including: headache/migraine, muscle pains, period pain, fever, cold and flu symptoms and toothache
It’s really important that you don’t exceed the adult dose of 2 capsules up to 4 times daily (maximum 8 capsules in 24 hours) and if you haven’t had any symptom relief after taking 8 capsules daily for 48 hours to give us a call to discuss other options
Paracetamol can be taken in conjunction with Nurofen (Ibuprofen)
Ponstan is useful for helping with the symptoms of period pain as it stops the production of chemicals in the body which cause uterine contractions, thereby easing period symptoms
It can be combined with other medication such as Panadol to provide additional pain relief
Have a chat to us before taking Ponstan if you have ever had any stomach problems or surgery
NOT to be taken in pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless on recommendation from a doctor
Nurofen is really useful as an anti-inflammatory for conditions such as headache/migraine, toothache, muscle aches and period pain
It’s better to use Nurofen for Children for children under the age of 7 as you can taper the dose to their specific age and/or weight
Studies have shown that Nurofen no longer needs to be taken with food, however if you feel as though it upsets your stomach try to time your dose with your meal times
Nurofen can be taken alongside Paracetamol/Panadol, however it’s important to not exceed the maximum daily dose of both
NOT to be taken in pregnancy or breastfeeding, unless recommended from a doctor
